Chester 1-0 WycombeChester made it five wins on the trot to virtually guarantee their Football League status and severely dent Wycombe's hopes of automatic promotion.
Stewart Drummond scored the winner in the 64th minute when he tapped in Dave Artell's goalbound header.
The home side were grateful to keeper Chris MacKenzie, who made several fine saves, notably a full-length dive to keep out Tommy Mooney's low shot.
But Ben Davies shot wide for Chester when he should have made the game safe.

Brown confident of play-off place
Assistant boss Steve Brown claims he is not worried that Wycombe will miss out on the League Two play-offs.
Defeat to Lincoln was Wycombe's sixth in a row and it leaves them four points clear of the seventh-placed Imps.
"I have no doubts we'll get into the play-offs. In three games, we need a win and I keep thinking when the next game comes we'll do it," said Brown.
"We are running out of time but the management staff are all confident and we're remaining positive."

Dave Savage is suffering from bruised ribs, but Magnus Okuonghae is expected to recover from a dead leg.
Wycombe will have Charlie Griffin available, despite being taken to hospital as a precautiuon after suffering headaches.
He had a metal plate inserted into his head following a fractured skull in pre-season, and may be on the bench.

Mooney rejects Wycombe rift claim
Veteran striker Tommy Mooney has rejected reports of a rift among the players at Wycombe Wanderers.
"It hurts me that people are saying I've said things, or suggesting that I'm behind trouble within the dressing room," he told the Chairboys' website.
"When you have 25 grown men working in everyday situations, you're going to get ructions, but I've seen less at this place than at any other club.
"We should all be pulling in the same direction - players, fans and staff."

Rushden 1-3 Wycombe
Tommy Mooney's brace for Wycombe left Rushden teetering on the brink of relegation to the Conference.
The hosts took the lead on 22 minutes when John Turner set up Marcus Kelly to head home his third of the season.
The visitors equalised after the break when Mooney tapped in at the second attempt and three minutes later Roger Johnson drove home Wycombe's second.
With four minutes left, Rob Gier fouled Matt Bloomfield in the box, allowing Mooney to score from the spot.

Wycombe v Darlington
Striker Charlie Griffin could earn a recall to the Wycombe line-up after recovering from head pains following the 3-0 defeat to Lincoln.
But temporary boss Steve Brown has no new injury or suspension worries as Wanderers keep bid to keep up the pressure for a play-off spot.
Darlo could hand winger Carlos Logan a surprise start following his double hernia operation last month.
Goalkeeper Sam Russell and defender Shelton Martis retain their places.

Wycombe 0-1 Darlington
David Duke struck five minutes after half-time to secure the points for 10-man Darlington and keep their slim hopes of a play-off spot alive.
Wycombe, already assured of a top-seven finish, started well and tested Quakers keeper Sam Russell through Tommy Mooney and Russell Martin.
And the hosts looked odds-on for the win when visiting skipper Matt Clarke saw red for fouling Ian Stonebridge.
But Duke's solo run and finish from 20 yards stole the points for Darlington.

Wycombe 1-2 Cheltenham
Tommy Mooney struck in injury time to give Wycombe a lift as Cheltenham seized a narrow lead in the League Two play-off semi-final.
Mooney volleyed home from close range to give the Chairboys hope ahead of Thursday's second leg at Whaddon Road.
Cheltenham had gone ahead on 43 minutes when John Finnigan latched onto Shane Duff's knockdown and drilled home.
Steve Guinan claimed their second 15 minutes from time when his shot took a cruel deflection off Roger Johnson.
Wycombe made a far better start with Ian Stonebridge and Mooney going close.
However, they were briefly rattled when Rob Lee was hurt in a challenge with Guinan and went off with a head wound that later required eight stitches.
Cheltenham, meanwhile, had posed little attacking danger but as half-time approached, Finnigan struck.
Wycombe were denied again shortly after half-time when the outstanding Duff volleyed clear Mooney's goalbound header.
At the other end, the unmarked Guinan should have done better than head wide from Grant McCann's free-kick on the right.
Duff wasted an even better chance for the visitors in the 64th minute, failing to make contact at the far post after being picked out by another free-kick from McCann.
Cheltenham looked to have sealed a decisive advantage when Guinan rounded off an excellent move but the hosts gave themselves hope when veteran Mooney struck.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wycombe stand-in manager Steve Brown:
"We play better away from home. The lads are more relaxed and play with more confidence.
"I don't think home advantage really matters. It's just two games.
"Tommy Mooney's late goal today was fantastic. It put us back in the tie and makes for a wonderful second leg."
Cheltenham boss John Ward:
"I've told the boys not to be too disappointed. We've still got a 2-1 lead.
"It's always disappointing to concede but if I'd said at half-time we'd be a goal up at the end, we'd have taken it.
"We'll look at the second leg as an individual game we need to win. There's another good game in prospect."

Wycombe boss Gorman leaves club
Wycombe have parted company with manager John Gorman after 18 months in charge at the Causeway Stadium.
In a statement on their website, the club said: "We have reluctantly agreed to release John from his position.
"The Board believes John needs a great deal more time and professional help to deal with the tragic loss of his wife.
"In the meantime we need to continue with the operation of the club and a financial package has been agreed with John which he is satisfied with."
Gorman was given time away from the club after the death of his wife Myra in February following a battle against cancer and although he returned in March, he was sent home on compassionate leave in April.
At the time the club had said that Gorman hoped to resume his full-time role before the start of next season.
The death of Gorman's wife was the second tragedy to hit the club as it came a month after midfielder Mark Philo was killed in a car accident.
On the field, the club missed out on promotion after bowing out to Cheltenham in the play-off semi-finals despite a superb start to the season which saw them unbeaten in their first 21 games.
They led the table in mid-February but only won four of their final 13 matches to end up in the play-off zone.

Wycombe home reverts to old name

Wycombe moved to Adams Park in 1990 from their previous Loakes Park home.
The stadium was known as Adams Park from its opening in 1990 until the start of the 2003-4 season.

Martin pens new Wycombe contract

Martin told the club website: \"I felt I really came on last season and I'm improving all the time.
\"I get on with all the boys, I live locally and get on with the people in the office so the club is a nice place to be.\"

Wycombe rocked by injury to Talia
Wycombe goalkeeper Frank Talia will be out for up to six months after sustaining a serious knee injury.
The 34-year-old suffered the injury in training and the medical experts at the club do not expect the Australian to play again this year.
The news is a blow for new boss Paul Lambert, who has let Steve Williams join Forest Green Rovers on loan.
But goalkeeping duo Jamie Young and Ricardo Batista both arrived at Adams Park this week.

Wycombe 1-1 Wrexham
A stunning strike from midfielder Mark Jones earned Wrexham a share of the points at the Causeway Stadium.
Wycombe enjoyed a dominant opening and took the lead when Tommy Mooney slotted home Chris Palmer's cross.
The visitors gradually got their share of possession, then benefited from an odd 31st-minute Ricardo Batista slip.
The keeper fluffed a clearance under Neil Roberts' challenge, then chased the ball to allow Jones a 40-yard curling strike into the deserted net.

Mendes failed to convert two further chances while County just scrambled Mike Williamson's touch off the line.
