Wolves star insists ref was wrong
Improving full-back George Elokobi was adamant that Wolves had been punished by a penalty that never was against QPR.
Luckless Neill Collins was adjudged to have handled a free-kick from Akos Buzsaky in the 47th minute – the fifth penalty the Wolves man has conceded this season.
But Elokobi is adamant this was one which should never have counted against his team-mate.
“I saw that clearly and it was never a penalty,” said Elokobi.
“It hit Neill Collins in his belly at close range and anyone watching it again would see it wasn’t a penalty.
“But when things go against you like that you just have to get your head down and work at getting back into the game, there’s no use sulking.
“That’s what we did and it was fantastic to come back and get a draw. At this stage of the season every point counts and we don’t want to be losing games.
“We were unlucky because everyone in the team worked their socks off and we didn’t get the knockout blow, and their keeper made some great saves. Even though we were 3-2 down we still had the spirit and the belief to keep the ball and pass it.
“I felt we would always carve them open and create another chance and I think we deserved that late goal.
“That says a lot about our character as a team and as a club. And the fans really backed us as well which was brilliant.
“When it comes to May everything matters and on Saturday we’ve come back three times so we’ll take the draw.”
And goal hero Andy Keogh admitted the dramatic climax to the game, which saw him strike Wolves’ third equaliser in the fifth minute of added time, left him thinking his side had collected three points.
“It felt like a win when that one went in to be fair,” said Keogh.
“The referee was a bit difficult, but a point’s a point and keeps us right in the hunt.
“The ball was going everywhere at the end, but I was pleased with the finish.
“I sort of slipped but it was great to see and I think it summed up a good performance.
“We just need to tighten up a little bit. I felt the timing of their penalty gave them a lift.
“I don’t think either of them were penalties, but the timing of theirs just gave them a lift.
“We didn’t need that because we came in at half-time at 1-1 and thought we could go on and win from there.
“Their keeper made some good saves, but we came back to get the point and that’s all credit to us.”
so thier penalty was stone wall was it pffffff my ass it was it was miles outside the area and wasn't even a foul.
