Woking cheered by Townsend deal
Woking boss Glenn Cockerill wanted to make sure his strike force would stay at full power by recruiting QPR striker Luke Townsend. The 19-year-old joined on a month's loan on deadline day as Cockerill safeguarded against the possible loss of top scorer Justin Richards. "I wanted to bring someone in, in case the club got a late offer it couldn't refuse," he told Woking's website. "I just want to see how he does with us. We'll then take it from there." Cockerill had also enquired about Wycombe's Jonny Dixon - who joined local rivals Aldershot on loan - and York's Andy Bishop.
