Weir to lead Scots in Euro games
Everton defender David Weir is set to captain Scotland in the European Championship qualifiers against the Faroe Islands and Lithuania.
The 36-year-old centre-half skippered Walter Smith's team to Kirin Cup success in Japan in May.
And, with Barry Ferguson again missing through injury, Smith said: \"David captained the team in Japan and is more than likely to do the same this time.\"
Weir returned to the Everton team as a late substitute at the weekend.
The former Hearts player had missed the opening games of the season through injury and played just six minutes against Tottenham on Saturday.
Scotland meet the Faroes at Celtic Park on Saturday before the trip to Kaunas and Smith has had no call-offs from his squad.
But midfielder Ferguson was missing from the original party, along with first-team regulars Jackie McNamara and Andy Webster.
