Warnock rules out swoop for Fiorentina strike Adrian Mutu
The Romanian had been linked with a shock move to the Championship leaders but Warnock has moved to reject such speculation and has insisted he has no plans to bring Mutu to Loftus Road.
Mutu has endured a turbulent career and was sacked by Chelsea in 2004 after failing a drugs test and was consequentially sued by the club and ordered to pay £14.3 million in compensation.
After moving to Italian side Fiorentina, the 31-year-old has since served a nine-month suspension after again testing positive for a banned substance.
Warnock has denied the reports linking Mutu with a shock return to England, but has hinted that QPR will looking to bring other players in January.
"No I don't think so. There are always possibilities - you don't say no to anybody," Warnock told Sky Sports News, when asked about the links with Mutu.
"We have contacts in Italy and in one or two other places with good players.
"Like anybody else the owners are in conversations with many people and names are pushed forward and they put it past me.
"But at the moment we are not thinking of anything substantial like that."
QPR are comfortably at the top of the Championship table and the cash rich club appear to be preparing to bring in reinforcements in January to help secure promotion to the Premier League.
