Warnock has agreed to extend Borrowdale’s loan deal
Warnock has agreed to extend Gary Borrowdale’s loan deal with Charlton until the end of the season.
The left-back played the final game of his initial 28-day loan against Colchester on Tuesday and Addicks boss Phil Parkinson made no secret of his desire to keep the player.
Warnock was quoted elsewhere as saying he wanted to take a look at the 24-year-old and although the player returned to Loftus Road, the Hoops manager this afternoon agreed to let him comeback to The Valley.
Speaking earlier this afternoon, Parkinson said: “I spoke to Neil yesterday and he has got a player coming back from injury at left back and he just wants to see how he is this morning in training because they are a bit short of bodies.
“If he comes through the fitness test, the likelihood is we will be able to keep Gary.”
Borrowdale is expected to retain his starting place for Saturday’s promotion clash with Norwich, with Chris Solly again likely be named on the bench.
