Warnock eyes new wing target after deal collapses
QPR could be set to move for Reading winger Jobi McAnuff after pulling out of a £1.5m move for Newcastle's Wayne Routledge.
Routledge looked set for a permanent move to Loftus Road after helping Neil Warnock's side win the Championship title last season, scoring five goals in 20 appearances during a successful loan spell.
But the winger's temporary move only came about after Jamie Mackie suffered a long-term injury and, with the striker on course to return in August, a full-time deal now appears dead.
Warnock has been given around £12 million to spend on strengthen his squad ahead of the R's return to the Premier League and speculation at the end of the week is linking him with a move for Reading's McAnuff.
The QPR boss tried to sign the 29-year-old last summer but is now thought to be preparing a fresh bid with McAnuff having just a year left on his contract at the Madejski Stadium.
