VINE COULD BE BACK FOR OPENER QPR could have striker Rowan Vine back in contention by the time Barnsley visit Loftus Road on the opening weekend of the new season.
The Reds will line up against the Hoops on Saturday August 9, 2008, and Vine is slowly stepping up his rehab work following a double fracture of his tibia. Vine returned to light training two weeks ago and had two screws removed from his tibia earlier this week.
Rangers physio Paul Hunter told www.qpr.co.uk: "The x-ray revealed that the fracture is continuing to heal in a positive fashion".
