Venables for Hoops one day?
Co-owner Flavio Briatore has spoken of his admiration for former R's boss Terry Venables
"I like the guy. I rate him 100 per cent," said Briatore, quoted in the Sunday Mirror.
"He has got a lot of experience. He knows about international football.
"He is the kind of guy we need when we are bigger. He is a bit big for us now.
"Maybe when we make the next step. I like the management team we have at the moment."
The R's current management team enjoyed a comfortable win over Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
"The attitude, application and desire of the players to embrace what we are trying to do has been terrific," said boss Iain Dowie.
"Doncaster are a very good side, one of the best passing sides in the division, and we nullified that and we had a creativity.
"The defeat at Sheffield United hurt and we spoke openly and brutally about that in the week and put it to bed. The response was a clean sheet today."
I never forgave him for going to Barca...how selfish of me eh!!... but I will never forget he saying over the Loftus Road Tannoy system he was staying put then 10 days later he was gone....but still I agree Ade I would welcome him back and definately over this manager we have at the moment :one:
everything was in place with terry's consortium to buy rangers until one of his backers pulled out at the last minute and gregory got the hump and pulled out of the deal, thats why terry went.thats history now but his experience would be invaluable for our progression me thinks.
Yeah I would love to have him back and also I would like to see Gerry Francis doing something too, makes me think though with some of the managers we have had in recent seasons wether any of them could do well with a decent monetary backing as we have in place now?....I really think they could have..Hindsight is a great thing but it truely makes me wonder
