United swoop for ex-QPR and Reading goalkeeper
HAYES & Yeading have drafted in goalkeeper Shane McWeeney for Saturday's visit of Fleetwood Town.
With number one Delroy Preddie sidelined with a hamstring injury and Lee Harrison also struggling with a knock in recent weeks, Hayes & Yeading are short of goalkeeping cover for the relegation run-in.
Boss Garry Haylock (pictured) has therefore swooped for ex-QPR and Reading goalkeeper McWeeney, who is a free agent at the moment.
After being released by Reading in 2008, McWeeney joined the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain, before being snapped up as goalkeeping cover by QPR a year later.
However, he has been without a club since being released by Rangers at the end of last season and trials with Tranmere, Crewe Alexander and pre-season friendlies for Wealdstone came to nothing.
