Tranmere v Yeovil
Tranmere defender Ian Goodison is a major doubt for the match against Yeovil having not trained all week because of a hamstring problem. Midfielder Danny Harrison is facing up to six weeks out with a foot problem. Yeovil boss Russell Slade is unlikely to change to the line-up after their 2-1 win over Carlisle. Winger David Poole is an injury after limping off in the match, but Ishmael Welsh is set to keep his place after scoring the winning goal.

Tranmere 2-1 Yeovil
Goals from Kevin Ellison and John Mullin handed Tranmere their second home victory of the season. Ellison set the hosts on their way when he raced on to Chris Greenacre's pass to fired home a low shot. But Yeovil drew level shortly before the break when Chris Cohen produced a left foot finish at the far post following a cross by Ishmael Welsh. Tranmere then seized control and they sealed the points when John Mullin found the target with a 12-yard shot. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tranmere: Ward, Stockdale, McCready, Goodison, Sherriff, Shuker, Mullin, McLaren (McAteer 47), Ellison, Taylor, Greenacre. Rovers took the lead when Shane Sherriff headed in from Kevin Ellison's looping corner. Ben Burgess equalised in the second half when he was first to Ryan France's whipped ball. Duffy grabbed the winner for Hull after smashing in a 25-yard strike after connecting with Jon Parkin's knockdown. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hull: Myhill, Ricketts, Turner, Collins, Dawson, France, Livermore, Marney (Welsh 89), Elliott (Duffy 77), Burgess (Parkin 98), Fagan. Chesterfield 0-2 Tranmere
Tranmere moved fourth in the table after claiming victory at Chesterfield. Rovers took the lead just before half time when Aaron Downes inadvertently diverted Chris Greenacre's shot into his own net from close range. Gareth Taylor made it 2-0 with a clever lob from 20 yards after John Mullin's pass found him in space on the right. Chesterfield did not force Rovers keeper Gavin Ward into a save until three minutes from time when he easily caught Phil Picken's 25-yard drive. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chesterfield: Roche, Picken, Hazell, Downes, O'Hare, Hall (Bailey 71), Niven, Allott, Hurst, Larkin (Allison 55), Shaw (Folan 55). Moore wants Rovers to be ruthless
Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore wants his team to be more ruthless in front of goal even though they dispatched Leyton Orient 3-0 to go second in League One. \"We had enough chances to wrap the game up in the first 20 minutes,\" he said. \"It's another clean sheet and three goals but it could have been six. We've got to learn how to kill teams off. \"We had enough of the ball to really put the knife in. Although we're not firing on all cylinders, we look like we know what we're doing at times.\"

Tranmere keeper shocked to score
Tranmere goalkeeper Gavin Ward admits he was shocked to score the first goal of his career in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Leyton Orient at Prenton Park. The stopper found the net with a free-kick from just outside his area. \"I didn't celebrate too much as I felt sorry for the other keeper. Until it was in the net, I didn't realise what had happened,\" he told Rovers' website. \"I don't think the referee was sure what was going on, but obviously the keeper touched it as it was indirect.\"

Tranmere v Bristol City
Tranmere have no new injury problems - but the game comes too quickly for Calvin Zola, who has missed the last few weeks with a hamstring problem. Midfielder Danny Harrison (foot) is out for another three weeks. Bristol City are waiting to discover the extent of Enoch Showunmi's knee injury - the striker is rated 50-50. Bradley Orr is still suspended following his sending off in the 3-1 win at Northampton, when he clashed with team-mate Louis Carey.

Tranmere 1-0 Bristol City
John Mullin's 85th minute goal against Bristol City moved Tranmere level on points with leaders Nottingham Forest. Adriano Basso had kept his side in the game but the City goalkeeper could do nothing about Mullin's effort from 12 yards after Gareth Taylor headed down. Taylor had wasted two good first-half chances for Tranmere, while Chris Greenacre was denied by a fingertip save by Basso in the 18th minute. Basso also did well to halt a powerful header by Ian Goodison on 54 minutes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tranmere: Ward, Stockdale, McCready, Goodison, Sherriff, Shuker, Mullin, McLaren, Ellison, Taylor, Greenacre. Subs Not Used: Tremarco, McAteer, Jennings, Davies, Achterberg. Booked: McLaren, Greenacre. Goals: Mullin 85. Rotherham v Tranmere
Rotherham midfielder Michael Keane is again set to be left out after refusing to apologise for defying team orders and missing a penalty. Defender Pablo Mills also keeps his place despite appearing in court last Wednesday charged with burglary. Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore has a worry over player-coach Jason McAteer, who has a cartilage problem. Striker Calvin Zola (hamstring) could come into contention but midfielder Danny Harrison (foot) is sidelined.

Rotherham 2-1 Tranmere
Rotherham finally wiped out the 10-point deficit imposed for last season's financial problems with a victory over high-flying Tranmere. The Millers went ahead on 18 minutes when Rovers failed to clear a corner and Lee Williamson scored with a shot. Rovers equalised 10 minutes later when the ball was laid off to Kevin Ellison, who drilled a low shot inside the post. But Will Hoksins then cut in from the left-hand side before hitting a low shot across Ward into the net. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rotherham: Cutler, Worrell, Sharps, Mills, Robertson, Partridge (Wiseman 89), Williamson, Cochrane, Bopp, Hibbert, Hoskins. Tranmere take action over Joyce
Tranmere have announced that they are taking action over centre of excellence manager Warren Joyce's move to join the coaching staff at Royal Antwerp. A statement on Rovers' website notes that despite the move, Joyce is still under contract at Prenton Park. \"The matter is in the hands of the club's solicitor and the Football Association,\" the statement read. \"We will do whatever we can to ensure that our centre of excellence will continue to operate as normal.\" Oldham-born Joyce, 41, made over 600 league appearances in his playing career as a midfielder for Bolton, Preston, Plymouth, Burnley and Hull.

Northampton v Tranmere
Northampton could hand a debut to new loan signing Mitchell Cole, but Joe Burnell picked up a hamstring injury in midweek and will be missing. Sam Aiston (ankle) and Fred Murray (heel) are still out, but Eoin Jess is back and Jerome Watt could feature. Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore has a doubt over Chris Greenacre after the striker missed training with a calf problem. Jason McAteer is out for three weeks after surgery on a cartilage problem, while Danny Harrison (foot) is injured.

Tranmere injury problems mount up
Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore admits they are struggling with injuries ahead of Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Nottingham Forest at Prenton Park. Kevin Ellison, Chris Greenacre and Shane Sherriff are all doubts and Paul McLaren is a definite non-starter. \"Kevin's gone to see an eye specialist and Chris and Shane are not looking too promising at the moment,\" said Moore. \"Paul has got a problem with his heel and is definitely out, so we're a bit thin on the ground at the moment.\"

SirStanleyBowles- 09-26-2006
Tranmere v Huddersfield
Tranmere have a host of problems with Chris McCready (hamstring), Gareth Taylor (face) and Calvin Zola (hamstring) all struggling. Forward Chris Greenacre is available again following a calf problem and is pushing for a starting place. Chris Brandon aims to return to the Huddersfield squad after missing the eight matches with an ankle injury. But boss Peter Jackson may stick with his winning line-up and has no new injuries or suspensions to report.

SirStanleyBowles- 09-30-2006
Bradford v Tranmere
Bradford are likely to be unchanged, with Richard Edghill continuing at full-back, with Alan Rogers out with a hamstring injury. Central defender Matt Clarke is still out with a groin problem. Tranmere are without Gareth Taylor (cheekbone) for six weeks, while striker Calvin Zola is likely to miss out with a hamstring injury. Chris McCready (hamstring) is also a doubt and Paul McLaren is serving a one-match suspension.
