Table-toppers' bids rejected
Hoops have rejected two bids from Wolves for midfielder Mikele Liegertwood amid fears that Martin Rowlands is out for the season.
Rangers are reluctant to sell anyway, but Mick McCarthy's table toppers stand less chance of signing Liegertwood after Rowlands injured his knee against Derby County on Saturday.
The Rangers skipper was stretchered off after a nothing tackle from Derby's Miles Addison and went for scans today to determine the extent of a cruciate ligament injury.
Boss Paulo Sousa acquired Liam Miller on loan from Sunderland last week, so has some cover, but the manager admitted it was a bitter blow to have lost his captain.
He said: "I want to dedicate this victory to Martin Rowlands. He always wants to win, he is a fighter, our captain and our leader. We could have lost him for the season. We think there is a problem in one of his knees, we will know more later."
