Swindon suffer Corr injury blow
Swindon Town striker Barry Corr faces a lengthy spell out of action after dislocating his shoulder. Corr, 23, suffered the injury during Swindon's 1-1 draw in League One with Stockport on Tuesday. "I believe it's a problem he had before and it seems the jinx has hit him again," said Town boss Danny Wilson. "I feel for Barry because he did well for large periods of the game. But it hasn't changed my thinking in terms of players who we need to bring in." Corr has scored twice in 14 appearances for the County Ground outfit this season.

Swindon bring in four new faces
Swindon boss Danny Wilson has freshened up his squad, signing four new players. Doncaster defender Gordon Greer, 28, who has yet to feature for Rovers this season, will bolster the defence having arrived on a one-month loan agreement. Reading winger Hal Robson Kanu, 19, who scored twice in 15 games in two loan spells at Southend in 2008, has also signed terms on a one-month loan deal. And Wilson has handed short-term deals until the end of the season to Hamdi Razak and Jean-Christophe Lescinel. The pair had impressed while on trial at the County Ground. French striker Razak scored a hat-trick against Swansea reserves, while defender Lescinel has played international football for Haiti. Greer joined Rovers from Kilmarnock in the summer of 2007, but has only made a handful of appearances due to injury. The Scottish defender broke his wrist shortly after joining the club. He then suffered a hip injury, which required surgery and a lengthy recovery. Greer made 17 appearances during Rovers' promotion season in 2007/08. All four players have been signed in time to be included in Swindon's squad for Tuesday night's home game against Walsall.

Wilson hails 'classic' Cox goal
Danny Wilson praised a "Bergkamp-esque" goal from Simon Cox as he earned his first win as Swindon manager. A 25-yard lob from the striker, 21, helped Town to a 3-2 win over Walsall at the County Ground on Tuesday. Wilson told Radio Swindon: "What a classic goal that was, it was absolutely brilliant. "There's a goal it reminds me of and it's a Bergkamp-type of goal. There are only certain players in the country who can do things like that." Wilson was delighted to get the victory but, having taken a 3-0 lead, thinks they made hard work of it. "We're just disappointed that we had to be as nervous as we were at the end, but we saw it through which was good. "The lads deserve a pat on the back. To get in the position they were in takes a lot of hard work," Wilson added.

Timlin to miss vital Swindon ties
Swindon midfielder Michael Timlin will miss the team's vital games with Carlisle and Bristol Rovers after picking up a two-game suspension. Timlin received his tenth yellow card of the season at Brighton on Saturday, just a day before the amnesty for this type of offence kicked in. Swindon are six points above the League One relegation zone with three games left to play. Either Craig Easton or Lilian Nalis is likely to replace him.

Defender Cuthbert joins Swindon
Swindon have completed their fifth signing of the summer with the capture of Celtic defender Scott Cuthbert. The Town had a previous bid for the 22-year-old rejected, and are thought to have paid in the region of £100,000 to get their man on a two-year deal. Cuthbert was also wanted by St Mirren, where he spent last season on loan. He told BBC Wiltshire: "I've known about Swindon's interest for a while and I'd talked to Danny Wilson and agreed I was going to come." Cuthbert has captained the Scottish under-19 and 20 teams and has played for Scotland B. He said: "There's a good squad of players and hopefully I can mix well with them and make a push to get further up the table and make it an exciting season." Cuthbert joins Jonathan Douglas, Alan O'Brien, David Lucas and Gordon Greer in joining Swindon this summer. The Scot can play at right or centre-back, and is on the club's pre-season tour of Austria, where Swindon drew 1-1 with Romanian Champions League side FC Cluj on Sunday. Anthony McNamee scored Swindon's goal. Swindon have taken former Millwall and Plymouth striker Cherno Samba to Austria on trial.

Timlin makes Southend loan move
Southend United have brought in Swindon midfielder Michael Timlin on loan as cover for the injured Craig Easton. The 25-year-old will join the Shrimpers for four weeks while Easton, who has been ruled out until mid-October, recovers from a calf injury. "I am looking forward to it because it is a chance to get some games under my belt," he told the Southend website. "The main thing is the chance to play regular football and hopefully it will be a good loan spell." The former Fulham trainee has made 75 appearances for the Robins since signing permanently in 2008 after two loan spells at the County Ground. He also has eight Republic of Ireland Under-21 caps. Shrimpers boss Paul Sturrock initially took Timlin to Swindon in 2006 during his period as manager of the club.
