Sousa expects transfer harmony
Queens Park Rangers manager Paulo Sousa believes he can work in harmony with the club's hierarchy in the January transfer window. Former Portugal international Sousa took his first step into management when he accepted Rangers' invitation to succeed Iain Dowie at the beginning of November. And with the January transfer market less than a month away, the two-time UEFA Champions League winner is understood to be targeting reinforcements for his inherited squad as the Hoops attempt to break into the Championship play-off places. However, speculation has suggested that Sousa faces possible interference from QPR co-owner Flavio Briatore with regards to team selection and transfers. Sousa, though, remains diplomatic, telling the Daily Mail when asked about the rumours: "That is not for me to think about. I have come in to do one job. Quality "Together, me and the club will try to bring more quality to the team. If the board decide they have enough money to improve the quality of the team in January, of course I would like it." Meanwhile, Sousa - who sees league leaders Wolves arrive at Loftus Road on Saturday, live on Sky Sports 1 - has revealed that he turned down two job offers in Portugal in order to secure a position in 'special' English football. "As a coach it was one of my priorities to come to England," he added. "I was offered posts elsewhere. "I had two offers in Portugal but I did not accept them because they did not suit my ideas. "English football is at the top now, the atmosphere at games is special and I'm proud to be here."
