Sionko wants Uefa chance for Gers
Libor Sionko believes that Rangers' weekend win over Hibernian will bolster confidence for Thursday's Uefa Cup game against Partizan Belgrade at Ibrox. Rangers top Group A with the Serbs yet to gain a victory, and the Czech said: \"We want to win every match and we will be going all out to beat Partizan. \"It was my dream to score at Ibrox for Rangers and we were delighted we got the win on Saturday. \"I enjoy European games and playing Partizan shouldn't be any different.\" Sionko made his first start since 1 October to impress in midfield against Hibs, scoring the second goal in a 3-0 win - arguably Rangers' best performance of the season. And the Czech Republic international hopes he has done enough to feature in the Light Blues final group fixture, particularly with manager Paul le Guen opting to rest captain Barry Ferguson. Rangers' European campaign has given their supporters some optimism in an otherwise difficult season so far. The 29-year-old told the club website: \"It's up to the manager to pick the team but I would love to be involved tomorrow. \"The pressure is always on us here at Rangers so we have to beat Partizan in order to keep the momentum going. \"It's always good to test yourself at this level.\" Le Guen stressed that despite Partizan finishing bottom of the group, they remain potentially an awkward proposition. \"Perhaps they will be more dangerous because they have no pressure,\" he said. \"They were quite good against Livorno and were unlucky at the end. I watched the game and they were not bad. \"I don't know if they will be motivated. I suppose they will be because they are proud like all players.\" Meanwhile, the struggling Serbs arrive in Glasgow with their domestic league starting its winter break. Partizan lie in fourth place, 14 points behind great rivals Red Star, with coach Miodrag Jesic facing fierce criticism from the club's fans, the Gravediggers.
