Strike Andy Cookey has racked up five bookings and is set to be suspended.
Chester are without key midfielder Roberto Martinez as the veteran Spaniard serves a one-game suspension.
Loan winger Ryan Semple comes into the squad after finalising his move from Lincoln and defender Ashley Westwood serves the third of a three-game ban.

FA charge admitted by Shrewsbury Shrewsbury Town have admitted to an FA charge relating to a brawl at their League Two match against Chester City.
Both clubs were charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

\"We've looked at the incident carefully and raised several points we will put forward when we attend the hearing.\"

Peters rues Shrewsbury's bad luck Shrewsbury Town manager Gary Peters believes his side were unlucky to lose in Saturday's 2-1 League Two defeat at Grimsby Town.
\"Today I feel like I've run over a few cats,\" Peters told BBC Shropshire.
\"We were in control in the second half, we were on the march and it seemed a matter of how long they could hold on.
\"Asamoah hits the post, the ball rolls back across the goal line and ends up curling out for a goal kick. How does that happen?\"

Peters pondering Thomas contract Shrewsbury Town boss Gary Peters says he has not yet decided whether to sign winger Danny Thomas permanently.
Thomas, 25, who is on non-contract terms at Gay Meadow, made his home debut in Saturday's win over Hereford.
Peters told the Shrews website: \"He has been training with us on a voluntary basis. He likes the place and wants to prove he is good enough to be here.
\"We have to take into account that the January transfer window is coming up as we cannot do anything until then.\"
Peters added: \"Saturday, at home and in the first team was the first time a lot of people will have seen him.
\"People saw him at Cheltenham and were impressed and against Hereford he came on and played a really important part in the game.\"

But early in the second half Mark Wright's swerving cross eluded everyone and flew into the net off the far post to put Walsall ahead.

Peters hopes for Asamoah return Shrewsbury Town boss Gary Peters is keen to have striker Derek Asamoah back in the side soon as possible.
The Ghanaian international missed the two Christmas defeats with an ankle injury he picked up in the 3-0 victory over Hereford earlier this month.
\"We've missed him. He's a big threat and not only when he's got the ball,\" Peters told the Shropshire Star.
\"It's taken longer than we expected and he's not trained with us so far, so we'll just have to see how it goes.\"

Shrewsbury v Stockport Shrewsbury's on-loan striker Leo Fortune-West is doubtful having missed the 2-1 win over Darlington with flu.
Defender Richard Hope could return to the starting line-up after being left out of the squad against the Quakers.
Stockport's veteran defender Tony Dinning is a doubt after he was taken off with a knock in the game against Grimsby on Saturday.
Adam Proudlock is struggling with an ankle injury, while utility man Keith Briggs is out with a fractured tibia.

Shrews form impresses boss Peters Boss Gary Peters feels Shrewsbury have hit form at the right time after moving into the League Two play-off places with a 3-0 win over Rochdale.
Peters told the club website: "That might be the best we have performed this season.
"But we're not going to get carried away with that result, we need to be doing that all the way through until the end of the season.
"It's the end of the season when you have to be in the top places."

Peters rues Shrews' wasted chance Manager Gary Peters believes Shrewsbury wasted an opportunity to pick up points with Tuesday's 3-1 defeat by Bury.
Former Shrews striker Glyn Hurst set up Bury's second goal before scoring their third on his return to Gay Meadow.
"It's an opportunity wasted and a game we should have won. We had lots of chances but let in three goals," Peters told SSB.
"Hurst's performance tonight was superb. If he had done that while he was here then he might be still here."

Peters relief after comeback win Boss Gary Peters was a relieved man after seeing Shrewsbury battle from a goal down to beat Accrington 2-1.
"It was a hard victory but it's going to be hard at this stage of the season," Peters said.
"But it's not about putting bells and ribbons on, it's about winning games and that's what we've done.
"Our lads are so resilient, we seem to be going behind for fun at the moment but you've got to take your hat off to our fighting qualities."

Peters admits to striking dilemma Shrewsbury Town boss Gary Peters admits he still does not know what his best strike partnership is.
Michael Symes, Andrew Cooke, Derek Asamoah and Leo Fortune-West are all competing for two starting positions.
"It's an area of concern for us as it's hard to match up our strikers," Peters told the club's website.
"When it's going well then you're lucky, but I would like to get a real solid front two who work together and understand the striking role."

Curtain comes down at Gay Meadow Shrewsbury are to stage a special build-up for the game against Grimsby as they prepare to leave their Gay Meadow home after 97 years.
There will be a parade of former Shrewsbury players, including ex-manager Alan Durban, Ian Atkins, Alf Wood and keeper Steve Ogrizovic.
Shrewsbury will move to New Meadow on Oteley Road next season.
And it could be a momentous occasion, with a victory guaranteeing Shrewsbury a place in the League Two play-offs.
The 8,000-capacity ground has provided a picturesque setting for the Shrews, with the River Severn flowing just behind the Riverside Stand.
The close proximity of the river has presented its own problems, making the ground prone to flooding.
And for many years, one of the more quirky aspects of Gay Meadow was the presence of Fred Davies - a local coracle maker whose namesake was Shrews' manager in the mid-90s.
He would be posted in the River Severn in his coracle, ready to retrieve footballs that had flown out of Gay Meadow during the course of a match.
The biggest crowd to attend a match at Gay Meadow was for the visit of local rivals Walsall on 26 April 1961, when 18,917 packed into the ground.
And despite the mostly lowly status of the club, Gay Meadow has played host to its share of giant-killing acts.
In 1979, a star-studded Manchester City side were beaten 2-0 in the FA Cup third round, while another top flight giant, Ipswich Town, lost 2-0 in the fifth round three years later.
Shrewsbury lost 5-2 to Leicester in the quarter-final, with a young Gary Lineker on target at Filbert Street.
In 2003, an Everton team flying high in the Premiership - with Wayne Rooney in their ranks - lost 2-1 at a packed Gay Meadown in the third round.
It was a win inspired by then manager Kevin Ratcliffe, ironically the most successful captain in the Merseysiders' history.
Everton boss David Moyes, the losing manager on that day, also played some of his league football at Gay Meadow.
Moyes will be chasing a Uefa Cup spot in charge of Everton as the curtain comes down on his former footballing home.
And with a host of former Shrewsbury stars in attendance, it will be an emotional day at the famous old ground.

Canoville released by Shrewsbury Shrewsbury Town manager Gary Peters has released defender Lee Canoville.
The 26-year-old is expected to join Shrewsbury's play-off opponents MK Dons next season.
"We'd decided not to take Lee on for next season and he's not going to be fit for any of the upcoming games," Peters told the club website.
"Lee is a lovely lad but I didn't want him to be in a compromising position when we are preparing to play a club he might be joining next season."
