SHITTU SET FOR NEW DEAL
QPR expect Dan Shittu to sign a new three-year contract with the club next week.
The 24-year-old centre-back's current deal runs out next summer, and Rangers are desperate to avoid losing one of their best players for nothing.
A club spokesman said: "Dan is on the verge of signing, but there was a knock-on effect of his being with the Nigeria squad.
"They were supposed to be playing in the Unity Cup in England this week, but that was cancelled so they didn't fly to London.
"But we are hoping he will sign next week when he returns."
Rangers also expect to resolve the future of out-of-contract left-back Gino Padula early next week.
