Shittu reveals Premiership ambition
Danny Shittu has admitted he was sorry to leave Queens Park Rangers but felt he could not turn down the chance to play Premiership football with Watford.
Shittu ended his five-year spell at Loftus Road over the weekend by opting for a move to Vicarage Road rather than West Brom.
The 25-year-old admitted his desire to prove himself at the top level was behind the decision to snub Albion, although he admitted it was tough to leave Rangers.
\"To test myself in The Premiership is something I have wanted to do for a long time,\" said Shittu.
\"I am sorry that I have to leave QPR - but it's something that had to happen. It's hard leaving a club that has been like a family to me for the last four years.
\"I feel I'm ready for The Premiership. I will work hard.
\"I believe I can deal with whatever is thrown at me, and I hope I can make a bigger name for myself than I did at QPR.\"
