Millwall v Scunthorpe
Millwall could be without striker Ben May (groin) but defender Richard Shaw returns after a thigh problem. Neal Ardley could be in the squad after a long spell out due to a hernia operation, along with Marvin Williams. Keeper Josh Lillis will make his league debut for Scunthorpe as first-choice Joe Murphy serves a one-game ban. Skipper Andy Crosby is also suspended, so veteran Ian Baraclough is set for a recall in midfield, with Richards Hinds switching to central defence.

Scunthorpe 1-0 Chesterfield
Leading goalscorer Billy Sharp kept Scunthorpe on track for promotion with his 18th goal of the season. A mix-up between Chesterfield keeper Barry Roche and defender Alex Bailey allowed Sharp to nip in to score. Before then Chesterfield had looked the better side as captain Mark Allott had a shot cleared off the line and Caleb Folan flashed a header wide. But in the second half Scunthorpe found some form and Roche twice denied Andy Keogh and Ian Morris. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scunthorpe: Murphy, Byrne, Crosby, Foster, Williams, Goodwin (Morris 65), Hinds, Taylor (MacKenzie 86), Keogh, Torpey (Baraclough 65), Sharp. Port Vale's Joe Anyon is set for his first with Mark Goodlad out after rupturing his Achilles tendon at Bristol City. Defender Colin Miles is also a concern after picking up an early knock against the Robins. Scunthorpe look likely to be without Marcus Williams with an ankle injury for the trip to Vale Park. Long-term absentees Daniel McBreen, Matt Sparrow and Ramon Calliste are also still out.

Former Scunthorpe goalkeeper Paul Musselwhite has joined League One side Port Vale. Musselwhite, 38, was recently released by Conference North outfit Kettering, after a spell at Eastleigh earlier in the season. He has played for the Valiants before, making 367 appearances in the 1990s.

Adkins proud as Iron forge ahead
Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins was pleased to see his side move clear at the top of League One after they beat Millwall 3-0 at Glanford Park. Bristol City and Nottingham Forest are three points back, although both clubs have two games in hand on the Iron. "Forest were seven points in front, but we tracked them down and have been top throughout January," Adkins said. "We may have sold Andy Keogh to Wolves, but we have lost none of our own promotion ambition."

Scunthorpe United have released midfielder Robbie Foy. The remainder of Foy's contract with the League One leaders, who clinched promotion last weekend, has been cancelled by mutual consent. Scunthorpe sign defender Iriekpen
Scunthorpe United have completed the signing of defender Izzy Iriekpen from Swansea City. The 25-year-old was out of contract at the Liberty Stadium after turning down the offer of a new one-year deal with the Swans he described as "an insult". Iriekpen signed a two-year deal with the Iron, with the option of a third year, at Glanford Park on Tuesday. He started his career with West Ham, but after loans at Leyton Orient and Cambridge he moved to Swansea in 2003. Scunthorpe hope for new stadium
Scunthorpe United chairman Steve Wharton confirmed to shareholders at Monday's Annual General Meeting that a ground move is still a possibility. He said: "When it was last mentioned I thought the possibility of a new stadium was deemed at 5% success. "But even at 5% success it was worth pursuing. I now believe that the possibility is growing." He also confirmed that if the new stadium did not go ahead then the Iron would redevelop Glanford Park.
