Scolari flattered by English link
Luiz Felipe Scolari would consider a job in England when his deal runs out as coach of Portugal.
Scolari, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, is out of contract after this year's finals in Germany.
He would even consider a role with the England side - but only when boss Sven-Goran Eriksson decides to leave.
Scolari told The Observer: "I get happy when my name is mentioned for a job with a club or the England team but we must respect our fellow professionals."
He added: "I would analyse with interest if I receive an invitation to work in England but I will only be able to talk about that at the end of my contract."
England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson is under contract until 2008 but he was alleged to have said he may step down if they win the World Cup.
Scolari engineered England's downfall at the 2002 World Cup, with his Brazil side knocking out Eriksson's team at the quarter-final stage.
And Scolari's Portugal side also ended England's hopes at the last eight stage of Euro 2004, winning on penalties before going on to lose to Greece in the final.
Meanwhile, Charlton chief executive Peter Varney said the club would not stand in the way of manager Alan Curbishley if he was ever chosen to replace Eriksson as coach.
Varney said: "People would look and say he hasn't managed a team in Europe but we have to give our best coaches a chance to perform at the top level - I think Alan, at some stage, will deserve his chance.
"I think any coach would want the opportunity to run the national side and Alan is no different. Of course he would want it and if it came along we wouldn't stand in his way."
