R's drop Cook hint
QPR have hinted that a bid has been turned down for star winger Lee Cook after Colchester saw a second Ray Jones offer rejected.
The U's have failed with a second approach for young striker Jones following an opening gambit of £200,000.
Colchester - last season's surprise package in the Championship - are looking to replace Chris Iwelumo and probably Jamie Cureton who wants to leave Layer Road, but Rangers are holding firm.
However, with Loftus Road chairman Gianni Paladini admitting he has knocked back bids for "a few of our players", fans will fear the worst for the long-term future of Cook.
"Unless the price is right, we won't be selling our best players," said Paladini.
