ROYCE STICKS TRUE TO RANGERS
Simon Royce revealed he had turned down another Championship club to join QPR.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper, whose contract at Charlton had expired, signed a two-year deal with Rangers on Friday following a successful loan spell last season.
"Another Championship club rang me to make an enquiry," Royce said, "but I had already given my word to QPR at that point, so it wasn't a hard decision.
"There were also a couple of lower-division clubs who contacted my agent, but they were a no-go for me."
The opportunity to be the clear first-choice for manager Ian Holloway was also a key factor in Royce's decision.
