U's bring in Rochdale's Perkins
Colchester have completed the signing of Rochdale midfielder David Perkins for an undisclosed six-figure fee. The 26-year-old started his career with Morecambe before joining Rochdale 18 months ago. He scored six goals in 45 appearances for Dale last season, helping them reach the League Two play-offs. Perkins' arrival takes the U's spending to more than £500,000 in 24 hours following the record £400,000 capture of Cheltenham striker Steven Gillespie.

Celtic recruit Rochdale teenager
Celtic have completed the signing of teenage Rochdale defender Matty Hughes on a three-year professional contract. Hughes, 16, was a virtual ever present in Dale's youth and reserve teams last season even though he was at school. The Scottish Premier League side have agreed an undisclosed fee with the League Two club as part of a compensation package. As part of the agreement Celtic will travel to Spotland for a friendly game at a mutually convenient date. Additionally Rochdale will have access to loan deals for some of Celtic's younger squad players.

McEvilly seals Rochdale loan move
Cambridge United striker Lee McEvilly has returned to former club Rochdale on loan with a view to a permanent move. McEvilly, 26, has scored eight goals in 19 appearances for the U's this season. U's have a number of forward options with Mark Beesley, Danny Crow, Chris Holroyd and loanee Scott Rendell all vying for a first-team place. Cambridge boss Gary Brabin told the club website: "Although Lee is leading goalscorer, his last goal in open play was at the start of September." McEvilly signed a two-year-deal at the Abbey Stadium over the summer having joined the club on loan in January. The former Wrexham and Accrington man has enjoyed two previous spells with League Two Rochdale, scoring 28 goals in 92 league appearances.

Rochdale extend Adams loan stay
Rochdale have extended the loan spell of Leicester City midfielder Nicky Adams for a second month. The 22-year-old has scored one goal in six appearances since joining the League Two club in January. Adams told the club website: "I'm more than happy to have signed for another month because it has been brilliant at Spotland from day one. "The dressing room is a great place, full of top lads and things are going very well at the moment."
