Respect for new manager Paulo Sousa
Mahon is hoping Sousa, a double European Cup winner with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, will improve him as a player after he was named permanent Rangers boss just under a fortnight ago.
"He has got an aura about him and obviously everyone has a lot of respect for him," said Mahon.
"When he was announced we started talking about him and what he has won in the game.
"It's clear he'll bring different things to my game and make me a better player."
