Real rule out approach for Wenger
Real Madrid vice-president Emilio Butragueno says his club will not make an approach for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to replace Wanderley Luxemburgo.
Real and Arsenal meet in the last 16 of the Champions League and Butragueno says they have a good relationship.
He told Sir Stanley: "Wenger is Arsenal's coach and we have to be respectful to them.
"He's under contract so we cannot talk about that. We will probably make a decision on the manager this week."
Butragueno believes the Champions League ties will be of a very high quality and admits he is looking forward to the games.
"They are going to be very exciting matches for the fans and for football too," he added.
"Both teams are very offensive in the way they play and we are going to see two great games, I am sure of that.
"Arsenal have a very strong team and Wenger has done a great job but we have the first leg at home and we must get a good result."
Real were linked with a move for Roy Keane until he signed for Celtic in midweek but Butragueno refused to say whether the Spaniards had approached the former Manchester United captain.
"Roy decided to go to Glasgow and we wish him the very best of luck. I cannot say any more than that," said Butragueno.
Real stick with caretaker manager
Juan Ramon Lopez Caro is to continue as Real Madrid's caretaker manager until the end of the season.
Lopez Caro, who had been youth team coach at the club, became caretaker manager on 4 December following the sacking of Wanderley Luxemburgo.
A number of coaches have subsequently been linked with the post, including Rafael Benitez, Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger.
Real have won one, lost one and drawn one match under Lopez Caro.
They suffered a 2-1 defeat to Olympiacos in the Champions League in his first game in charge, won 2-0 away at Malaga in the Spanish league and drew 1-1 at home against 10-man Osasuna on Sunday.
They are currently third in the league, eight points behind leaders Barcelona.
