Rangers face battle for Clement
Rangers face competition from French clubs for the signature of Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Jeremy Clement.
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas told Glasgow's Evening Times: "Regarding Jeremy Clement, there has been an offer from Rangers and we are studying it."
New Rangers manager Paul Le Guen hopes to be re-united with the left-sided Clement, now 21, who he introduced into the Lyon first-team three seasons ago.
But Lyon say clubs like Rennes, Nice and St Etienne are also interested.
Clement, who has fallen out of favour at Lyon, is not ruling out a move to Scotland.
"I know Rangers are interested," he told the Daily Record.
"Paul Le Guen has talked with my agent and I have also spoken with him, so I know he wants me to come to Glasgow.
"I am very interested in signing for Rangers."
Le Guen has already signed Czech Republic midfielder Libor Sionko and Sweden defender Karl Svensson was bought from Gothenburg last week for about £600,000.
French youngsters Antoine Ponroy and William Stanger have also moved to Glasgow this summer, along with midfielder Dean Furman from Chelsea.
