QPR will lose out on signing Cardiff striker Jay Bothroyd
QPR will lose out on signing Cardiff striker Jay Bothroyd due to his high wage demands, according to reports.
Bothroyd's contract at the Cardiff City Stadium is due to expire on Friday and he has been linked with the R's among a host of other Premier League clubs.
Neil Warnock was keen to land the England international but reports say his wage demands will put a block on any deal, with the 29-year-old said to want around £50,000 per week - a figure Rangers are not willing to match.
Bothroyd, who hit 18 league goals in the Championship last term, is expected to have his pick of clubs with Everton, Aston Villa, Blackburn and Stoke all interested.
