Ipswich came back from a goal down at Loftus Road to claim their first victory under new boss Jim Magilton.
QPR took the lead when Kevin Gallen bundled the ball over the line from close range.
But Simon Walton levelled from the spot soon after when Gavin Williams was brought down in the penalty area.
Jason De Vos put the visitors ahead when he reacted quickest from a corner and subsitute Dean Bowditch sealed their win with a late header.
