QPR Tracking Trotters Striker?
Since QPR's 1-0 defeat to Birmingham City in the last round of Championship fixtures before the international break, the R's have been linked with making reinforcements in the attacking appartment an an emergency loan deal. According to English newspaper the Mirror, Bolton Wanderers Icelandic striker Heidar Helguson is being tracked by the west London rich boys after they were apparently told to forget about bringing Sunderland forward Micheal Chopra to Loftus Road. Helguson has been plagued by injuries since he joined the Trotters in 2007, making just six Premiership appearances last season and only one so far this campaign. The 31-year-old has been capped 42 times by Iceland and scored seven international goals. He has a good record of finding the back of the net at Championship level, having dones so 55 times in 174 appearances between 1999-2005 for Watford. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Lee Camp had been linked with a move to Swansea recently after he apparently told the QPR management that he was unhappy at being second choice behind Radek Cerny. However, manager Iain Dowie has denied that he has placed Camp on the transfer list and says he expects him to carry on as before. "I haven't put him on the transfer list," Dowie revealed. "Lee trains hard every day and I've got a good relationship with him." "Obviously he's disappointed that he isn't in the team at the moment, but I expect him to crack on and keep working hard, the same as anyone else in the squad."
