QPR star talks up Rowland’s Ireland credentials Hoops winger Hogan Ephraim believes Hoops captain Martin Rowlands deserves to make the step-up to the Republic of Ireland squad.
Rowlands has won three caps for Ireland but the last of those came against Jamaica more than four years ago.
And Ephraim believes the Rangers captain’s performances this season make him a perfect candidate to return to the Ireland fold.
He said: “That goal was just something special and if that didn’t catch his Trappatoni’s eye, not many things will. With Rowly you know you’re going to get 100% every game and you’re going to get quality as well.
“Last season Rowly was player of the year and this season when he’s playing, we are a better team. Hopefully he can keep his form going and keep us bubbling as well.”
