QPR Snap Up Bothroyd
Queens Park Rangers have announced the signing of England international Jay Bothroyd on a three-year deal following his release by Cardiff City.
He began his career in the youth academy at Loftus Road before switching to Arsenal’s, and has since had something of a nomadic career which has seen him take in stints at Coventry, Blackburn, Wolves, Stoke, Charlton, Cardiff and Italian side Perugia.
He was rewarded with his first England cap last November in the friendly with France as a reward for his fine form with the Welsh club where he finished the campaign as their top scorer with 20 goals.
“I want to be playing against the best players in the world,” said the forward. “I got a taste of that when I joined up with the England squad, and hopefully I can do well for QPR and get back into the squad.”
