QPR plan raid for Bordeaux star
QPR are planning a raid on Bordeaux for 28-year-old Tunisian international Fahid Ben Khalfallah according a source close to the midfielder. Manager Neil Warnock has been promised funds by the QPR hierarchy; with co-owner Lakshmi Mittal revealing the club plan to strengthen the squad in order to establish themselves in England’s top tier. A source close to the player said that Ben Khalfallah was on Warnock’s most wanted list and suggested the Championship leaders were preparing a move for the Tunisian international at the end of the season. Ben Khalfallah joined Bordeaux in 2010 for a fee of 5 million euros from FC Valenciennes and has established himself at the heart of the Les Girondins midfield. This term he has made 26 appearances helping Les Marine et Blanc to 10th in Ligue 1, scoring one goal. The player was bought to replace French international Yoann Gourcuff after the playmaker departed for Lyon. Ben Khalfallah has made a meteoric rise through the French football ranks as he was playing in the third tier with Amiens as recently as 2005.
