QPR newboy Parejo scores as Real Madrid beat Hamburg
The Spanish U19 international Daniel Parejo, who is reported to be joining QPR on loan this week, scored the winner for Real Madrid against Hamburg yesterday. Ruud Van Nistelroy scored the opener with an easy tap-in in the first half, but Hamburg came back through a fine shot by Egyptian international forward Mohamed Zidan and all-in-all the Bundesliga side looked like the more likely winners. The first half belonged to Hamburg but they couldn't put the ball in the net. The Peruvian Guerrero came close twice early on with headers in the box, Trochowski blasted the Madrid goal, and Dudek also denied Olic on the line. But it was Madrid that were 1-0 up at half-time when Salgado slotted the ball through for Van Nistelroy to slot home. Guerrero could have had an equaliser again just before half-time but shot wide. Substitute Zidan scored the equaliser with a fine shot not long after the interval, but the second half was quieter in the pouring rain. But with just five minutes to go Callejon put in a lovely cross which Parejo met with a diving header to give Real Madrid a lucky win.
