QPR in the hunt for Chesterfield hotshot Craig Davies
Warnock is on the trail of lower-division hotshot Craig Davies as he aims to further strengthen Queens Park Rangers' already formidable firepower.
Chesterfield striker Davies - a former Manchester City trainee who has played for nine clubs in his short career - has hit 14 goals this season for the League Two leaders.
Warnock, a one-time Chesterfield player who is poised to reinforce his Championship pacesetters in January after two defeats, has had Davies under the microscope in recent weeks as he looks to steal a march on other interested clubs.
Davies, capped five times by Wales with the last in 2008, is also on the radar of new national team boss Gary Speed.
He potential has exploded this season with Davies having packed in a lot of experience for a player who is just 25 in January.
He has had spells with Oldham and Brighton plus a short stint with Verona in Italy.
