QPR in a Dream World! From Chelsea supporters
Our second West London derby of the week is fast approaching, a classic FA Cup 3rd round tie with our neighbours, Queens Park Rangers. It`s a classic David v Goliath confrontation between the two richest clubs in London and an encounter that, on paper, should see the reigning FA Cup holders` progress to the next round. However, the FA Cup is renowned world wide for the shocks it throws up and unless Chelsea take this tie seriously we could be left with egg on our faces in the media world on Sunday morning. Therefore, it doesn`t come as a surprise to hear somebody from within the Loftus Road camp already beating the drum and talking up their hopes. The person in question is the Queens Park Rangers, Hungarian star, Akos Buzsaky. Akos has the distinction of having already played for both Jose Mourinho and also under Henk Ten Cate and has intimated that his team are relishing the prospect of coming to Stamford Bridge to give the sort of performance that could see a shock result. Speaking to the media, this is what he had to say about the much awaited clash, "We`ve had tougher games in the Championship" "It`s a game we can`t lose, so we`re going there to relax and try to play good football." "The Championship and Premier League are different but if you can play well in the Championship you can play anywhere in the world." "Sometimes the standard is even better than the Premier League." "So there is nothing to fear - we`ll be trying to win the game." All fine sentiments indeed. In fact we cannot help but feel that a little of Mourinho`s brashness has rubbed off on the Hungarian. However, and we`re not being churlish, if the standard of the Championship is even better than the Premier League (sometimes) we`d like to ask two questions of Akos, 1. If that`s the case. Why are you not gracing the Premier League both on a personal and team basis? and 2. If QPR are so damned good why were they gracing the wrong end of the Championship for so long? It promises to be a lively encounter doesn`t it!
