QPR boss joins chase for Hendrie
QPR manager John Gregory has enquired about a potential loan deal for Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie.
The former Villa boss joins several other clubs in chasing manager Martin O'Neill for the unsettled 29-year-old.
\"There are a number of teams looking to take him on loan and I wouldn't want to betray confidences by naming them,\" O'Neill told the club's website.
\"John Gregory has enquired about him. He can go, wherever that may be, and get games.\"
Hendrie tracked by QPR and Palace
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has revealed that Crystal Palace and QPR have enquired about a potential loan deal for midfielder Lee Hendrie.
Former Villa boss John Gregory, now manager of the Hoops, joins several other clubs in chasing O'Neill for the unsettled 29-year-old.
O'Neill said: \"There are a number of teams who are looking to take Lee on loan, he can go wherever to get games.
\"John Gregory has inquired and Palace have maintained an interest in him.\"
O'Neill added: \"I wasn't the one who instigated the possibility of him going out on loan. It seemed as if his agent wanted that.
\"But even so, I am not in disagreement with him because he can go - wherever that may be - and get games.\"
Three clubs in for Aston Villa midfielder
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill says three clubs: Crystal Palace, Queens Park Rangers and an un-named Midlands club want to take midfielder Lee Hendrie on loan.
O'Neill told his club's official website: \"There are a number of teams who are looking to take him on loan and I wouldn't want to betray confidences by naming them. John Gregory has enquired about him.
\"He played for the reserves last night; we will see how fit he is because it is all about games with him.
\"If he wants to give himself a chance of getting into the first team then he'll want to get himself as fit as possible.
\"I wasn't the one who instigated the possibility of him going out on loan, it seemed as if his agent wanted that, but even so I am not in disagreement with him because he can go, wherever that may be, and get games.
\"We'll know more later today. Crystal Palace have maintained an interest and everybody is just waiting until he gets fit, and then hopefully he'll be able to prove a point.\"
