Cherries Chase QPR
Queens Park Rangers maintained their place at the top of the South West Combination, with a 3-0 win over Clevedon Town. AFC Bournemouth (pictured) closed in on QPR after the 7-0 thrashing of Oxford City. Frome Town suffered their third successive defeat leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table. Plymouth Argyle won 5-0 away, despite the absence of the influential Katie Middleton, and on the back of a 7-1 drubbing at QPR. A superb cross from Leah Brooks was met with an equally impressive Sam Blake header to open the scoring. Helen Kukor beat three defenders before netting the first of her hat-trick. The game was made safe within 5 minutes of the re-start, a Kay Lewis corner was met by Vicky Barter who powered her header into the roof of the net. Helen Kukor commented: \"I was very happy to score my first hat-trick for the club, and I'm really enjoying my football again since I came here in the summer. The team are capable of doing very well this season if we play like this every week. Consistency will be very important. The potential here is massive, and with a great reserve team the first teamers will need to keep producing solid displays.\" Luton Town kicked-off with a 2-2 draw at home to Chesham United, who are already off the pace in the race for the championship. Swindon Town won their first game of the season at home to Forest Green Rovers, goals from Chantel Lovell & April Pouldon (2).
