QPR 1-2 Burnley
ALAN Mahon's first goal in 14 months secured an important win for Burnley at Loftus Road. Queens Park Rangers have turned their home ground into a fortress this season, with a 2-0 loss to Derby County their only defeat here. But, just three days after knocking Premier League leaders Chelsea out of the Carling Cup, the Clarets ended a memorable week by strengthening their position in the Championship. They had to come back from behind to do so, after Dexter Blackstock's seventh of the season put Rangers in the driving seat. But Robbie Blake pegged them back 11 minutes before the break with an excellent finish from Joey Gudjonsson's throughball. Chris Eagles was carried off on a stretcher early in the second half, after getting injured while trying to defend a QPR attack. But just four minutes after Mahon replaced him, the Dubliner drilled what proved to be the winner past goalkeeper Radek Cerny.
