Portsmouth not bidding for Cook
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has told SSB that his priority for the rest of the summer is a new striker, and he has no interest in signing QPR winger Lee Cook. Pompey had been tipped by the gutter press to make a £2m move for the left winger this close season. Harry Redknapp has played down rumours he wants to take Freddie Ljungberg and Lee Cook to Portsmouth. Queens Park Rangers winger Cook has reportedly been the subject of a £2million offer by ambitious Pompey, having also been tracked by the likes of Fulham. Cook has intimated at a move away from Loftus Road, if the club receive an offer from a Premiership club, but it appears Fratton Park will not be his destination. "I've heard the rumours about Lee Cook, but I don't know where they've come from," Redknapp told SSB. "He's not someone I've looked at." There have also been suggestions that Redknapp is considering an offer for Arsenal midfielder Ljungberg. The Swede has been linked with a summer move away from Emirates Stadium, but he is not on Pompey's list of targets. Redknapp added: "Freddie Ljungberg's a good player, but I'm looking for strikers, really."
