Plummer makes Grays loan switch
Peterborough defender Chris Plummer has joined Conference side Grays Athletic on a month's loan. Plummer, 30, has not figured for Posh for the past month. The former Barnet and QPR centre-back is set to make his Grays debut in their game against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday. Plummer, who spent a season in the Conference with Barnet, will be looking to help shore up a Grays side that has won just one of its last eight games.

Peterborough v Shrewsbury
Peterborough could be without winger Jamie Day (calf) while Dean Holden and Ben Futcher are also struggling. Guy Branston is suspended, so Mark Arber could return to the starting line-up after his goal against MK Dons. Shrewsbury striker Derek Asamoah has returned after spending the last two weeks on international duty with Ghana. Ben Davies is back in training and is available for selection despite doubts over his fitness following an ankle injury suffered earlier in the week.

Posh boss to keep Coventry pair
Manager Keith Alexander has assured Peterborough's fans that loan signings Ben Turner and Liam Davies will stay at the club for the rest of the season. The Coventry duo impressed in the 2-1 win against Shrewsbury on Saturday. \"They are working hard for us and we've already extended their loans for an additional month,\" Alexander told SSB. \"Coventry don't want to let them go permanently but we're going to try and keep them for the rest of the season.\"

Midfielder in departure from Posh
Peterborough midfielder Paul Carden has left the club by mutual consent. The 27-year-old has made 51 appearances since moving to London Road from Chester in the summer of 2005. Director of football Barry Fry told Posh's website: \"Because of personal reasons, this cancellation has been agreed by both parties. \"Paul got married in the summer and his partner is up north - but he then had a double hernia operation, and things just haven't worked out for him.\" Due to transfer window restrictions, the former Rochdale and Doncaster man will not be able to sign for a new club until January - when Chester and Accrington are reportedly likely to be among those interested.

Peterborough fail in McLeod bid
Director of football Barry Fry has revealed that Peterborough recently had a £1m bid for Milton Keynes Dons striker Izale McLeod turned down. \"The club made an offer of £1m, but Milton Keynes chairman Pete Winkelman turned it down\" said Fry. \"The money would have been spread over three years.\" Former Derby man McLeod, 22, is one of League Two's top goalscorers this season and scored for the Dons in their recent 2-1 win against Wrexham.

Wycombe v Peterborough
Wycombe Wanderers have signed Aston Villa defender Stephen O'Halloran on loan until January and he goes straight into their squad. Top scorer Jermaine Easter is back in training after being sidelined for four weeks with a thigh injury and he could also return to the squad. Peterborough captain Dean Holden could be back in contention after four weeks out with a hamstring injury. Ben Futcher may finally make his debut after recovering from a knee problem.

Burton snap up midfielder Carden
Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough has completed the signing of experienced midfielder Paul Carden following his release by Peterborough last week. Alexander unhappy with Posh fans
Peterborough boss Keith Alexander wants Posh's supporters to stop moaning at the quality of his team's performances. Alexander's side saw their three-game unbeaten run end come to an end with a 2-0 defeat against Wycombe on Saturday. \"It's disappointing to hear us getting some stick as the players have given their all again,\" Alexander told SSB. \"We have had some good results recently and we need our fans to continually be behind the team.\"

Cobblers and Posh chasing Knight
Swansea say they have had approaches from Northampton and Peterborough for transfer-listed top-scorer Leon Knight. \"I've had plenty of enquiries but they are the strongest,\" boss Kenny Jackett told the South Wales Evening Post. \"I wouldn't say we're close to him going at the moment as Leon is weighing up his options, but I think a nice clean break would be best.\" Knight, 24, could go on loan, with the Swans looking to recoup at least the £125,000 they paid for him in January. Jackett says he is in no rush to replace the front man. \"I see Chris Jones as my fourth striker alongside Bayo Akinfenwa, Rory Fallon and Lee Trundle,\" he said. \"If Leon does go and at any stage we needed another one because of form or fitness, we would bring someone in then.\"

Peterborough boss Keith Alexander boasts an almost full-strength squad for the visit of Grimsby. Captain Dean Holden and Lloyd Opara are both set to make full returns after recovering from hamstring problems. Grimsby goalkeeper Phil Barnes (Achilles), Paul Bolland (knee), Peter Beagrie (back) and Justin Whittle (groin) are doubtful. Tom Newey is expected to be passed fit after a knee injury while Ricky Ravenhill returns from suspension.

Peterborough 2-2 Grimsby
Peterborough twice came from behind to hold 10-man Grimsby at London Road. Ex-Mariner Ben Futcher equalised with a header from a corner to equalise before an error by Guy Branston let in Peter Bore to restore Grimsby's lead. Posh flung everything into attack and Trevor Benjamin turned and levelled the scores with his eighth of the season. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Peterborough: Tyler, Holden, Branston, Futcher, Arber (Opara 58), Newton, Butcher, Gain (Huke 64), Day, Crow, Benjamin. Alexander praises debutant McLean
Peterborough boss Keith Alexander was delighted with the debut of on-loan Grays striker Aaron McLean in Tuesday's 1-0 win against Swansea. \"He's a handful and I knew he'd be,\" Alexander told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire after the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie. \"He never stops working and puts teams under pressure. We're delighted to have him because other teams wanted him. \"On his performance in this first game, he needs to get a bit fitter but then we are likely to get the rewards.\"
