Oldham hand Lomax second chance
Oldham manager John Sheridan has given Kelvin Lomax a second chance at the club after former boss Ronnie Moore released him at the end of last season. Lomax, who last played for the first team in an FA Cup tie two seasons ago before a series of injuries, has penned a three-month deal. The 19-year-old defender joined the Boundary Park club as a trainee. He has spent the last few weeks training with the team and did enough to persuade Sheridan to re-sign him.

Oldham 1-0 Swansea
Maheta Molango came off the bench to hand Oldham victory over Swansea. With 67 minutes on the clock, Molango found space in the Swansea box to head Simon Charlton's cross into the roof of the visitors' net from six yards. Swansea's adventure deserved some reward in the match and they should have had a goal from Lee Trundle. The striker hit the crossbar in the first half and then had a penalty saved after Oldham's Will Haining bundled Thomas Butler over in the area. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oldham: Howarth, Swailes, Haining, Stam, McDonald, Wellens, Charlton (Taylor 84), Edwards, Warne, Hall (Molango 45), Liddell. Millwall 1-0 Oldham

After surviving some early scares, Oldham should have taken the lead through midfielder Paul Warne, while Chris Taylor also wasted a good chance. Marvin Williams' fiercely-shot effort almost gave Millwall the lead. But the goal came when Maurice Ross' free-kick bounced in the box before Hubertz lashed it into the net. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Millwall: Pidgeley, Ross, Robinson, Whitbread, Shaw, Braniff (Hubertz 71), Elliott, McInnes, Ardley (Morais 54), Williams, Brighton. Oldham make loan swoop for Knight
Oldham have eased their goalkeeping crisis by signing David Knight on a month's loan from Middlesbrough. Latics boss John Sheridan was desperate for a new keeper after Chris Howarth - himself on loan from Bolton - was injured against Rotherham. First-choice shot-stopper Les Pogliacomi is also sidelined. Knight, 19, who has not played for Boro's first team, had a spell on loan at Darlington last season when he made three appearances.

Sheridan laments first-half show
Oldham boss John Sheridan said his side's dismal first-half performance was they key to losing at Bournemouth. \"We only played 45 minutes and you don't win many games when you do that,\" Sheridan said of the 3-2 defeat. \"We were very poor in the first half and you simply can't afford to give sides a two-goal lead. \"The second half proves they can do it and we did well to get back into it. We should have gone on and won, although I'd have been happy with a point.\"

Roughyeds stay at Boundary Park
Oldham rugby league side will continue to play at Boundary Park next season despite their relegation to National League Two. The Roughyeds, without a victory this season, were rumoured to be leaving the home of their football club tenants in a cost-cutting exercise. But a new deal will see the cash-strapped club pay reduced rent. Each match will be costed separately and will depend on how many fans pay at the gate.
