Notts County Richardson expects to lose Deeney
Notts County caretaker manager Ian Richardson is disappointed that goalkeeper Saul Deeney is likely to leave Meadow Lane in the summer.
Richardson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I've stated that we need to try and keep him and the club have gone as far as they'll go in negotiating with him.
"It's disappointing and I don't think he's going to be here next season.
"He's only 22 and has great quality and I think we need to try a little bit harder to keep him

Thordarson given Notts County job Notts County have appointed Gudjon Thordarson as their new manager.
The 49-year-old, who has also managed Stoke City, Barnsley and his native Iceland, has signed a three-year contract at Meadow Lane.
He takes over from player-boss Ian Richardson, who was relieved of his managerial duties last week after an inconsistent six months at the helm.
Thordarson becomes the sixth man to take charge of the club in the last five years.
Chief executive Patick Nelson told the club website: "Gudjon was clearly the strongest in a good field of candidates and we are looking forward to working with him.
"With Howard Wilkinson on the board and Gudjon Thordarson as manager, we are confident that we have one of the strongest managerial teams in our history."

Ullathorne wants more next season Notts County defender Rob Ullathorne has pledged to make amends for a disappointing League Two campaign.
The Magpies finished in 19th place but Ullathorne is now aiming for promotion under new boss Gudjon Thordarson.
"Next season we have no excuse and we should be ready to push on," Ullathorne told the club's website.
"We wanted a push for promotion but that hasn't materialised. We have to take it on the chin and hopefully we will be up there next season."
Ullathorne joined County from Northampton last summer and he believes the club will be more consistent if they build up a core group of players.
"If we can keep the majority of the squad together then hopefully we can come back a more settled side," the 33-year-old added.
"All of us having this year together will have benefited us despite what has happened."

Thordarson calling for home rule New manager Gudjon Thordarson wants Notts County to make Meadow Lane more of a fortress next season, after a disappointing 2004/05 home campaign.
"We really need to make teams dislike coming to Notts. It could give us a bit of an edge," he told the club website.
"The home record does not read that well, and if you want to be successful you need a good home record.
"Making plenty of noise would be a real push for the players - the fans have a big part to play."

Thordarsson denies move for son Notts County manager Gudjon Thordarsson has denied rumours he is to sign his son and Stoke City's 31-year-old midfielder Thordar Gudjonsson.
"He has a year left on his contract with Stoke and he is not a player we can afford," said Thordarsson.
"That is the bottom line, we cannot afford him here. We are working on a tight budget.
"The link is one that was bound to come out as he is my son but he won't be coming here."

Thordarson said: "It really is very straightforward, we need the supporters totally behind the team.

Thordarson set to tweak his squad Notts County boss Gudjon Thordarson is promising there will be changes to his squad ahead of next season.
"It may not be just players who are out of contract who will leave the club," said Thordarson.
"It is easier said than done to move players on who are under contract, because you have to find another club that wants to take them.
"Some may be told that they are free to find new clubs. These are decisions we will make in the very near future."

Thordarson sets sights on success Notts County manager Gudjon Thordarson is set to lay down the law to his squad who have "underachieved for too long".
"They can walk their own path but it will not lead them where they like," he told the Nottingham Evening Post.
"If they do not like the way we are going to do things they can leave - I do not have a problem with that.
"Discipline is important. If people step out out of line they will know about it. I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to make this club a success."

Whitlow calling for consistency Notts County skipper Mike Whitlow wants to see a settled side as the team look for an improvement next season.
"When you look at the top of our league they usually put the same side out week in, week out," said Whitlow.
"The only real changes are down to suspension or perhaps the odd injury and when you have a settled side it really helps.
"Over the last year I have played with so many different players in the centre of defence."

Magpies deny O'Callaghan reports Notts County manager Gudjon Thordarson has denied reports he has signed Worksop's Brian O'Callaghan.
It had been reported on the Worksop website that the 24-year-old had joined the Magpies but Thordarson said: "It is rubbish - we have not signed Brian.
"I worked with him at Barnsley and did have him over in Iceland when I was in charge at Keflavik FC.
"I think because he has played for me before that people link him but there is nothing in the reports."
Thordarson added that he is confident of signing players in the near future.
"I have been speaking to players and I am hopeful on a few," he said.
"There is nothing to confirm yet, but at the moment a lot of people are away and the market is quiet."

Magpies boss lining up trialists Notts County boss Gudjon Thordarson has confirmed he is bringing in trialists as he looks to boost his squad.
Thordarson wants to bring in new faces after last season's poor campaign.
"We will have a few players coming in on trial to see what they are made of and so I can judge them myself," he told Notts County's official website.
"Pre-season is very important time as I will be taking a closer look at not only the trialists but also the players in the squad for the first time."
