Brighton v Northampton
Brighton look set to be without Gary Hart as he is struggling with a groin injury and Richard Carpenter (groin) and Doug Loft (hamstring) are also out. Georges Santos (back) has resumed training, but winger Alex Frutos sits out the last of a three-match ban. Northampton welcome back defenders Sean Dyche and Chris Doig after a virus and an Achilles problem respectively. Striker James Quinn (flu) has resumed training, but Sam Aiston (ankle) and Fred Murray (Achilles) remain out.

Brighton 1-1 Northampton
Substitute James Quinn hit a dramatic late equaliser as Northampton set a new club record of 13 away unbeaten league games after drawing with Brighton. Brighton looked to be heading towards a third successive win when Jake Robinson stabbed home on 39 minutes Robinson led the attack for the first time with fellow teenager Joe Gatting after Brighton were hit by injury. But Quinn, who replaced Joe Burnell in the 69th minute, punished poor Brighton defensive work to equalise late on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brighton: Henderson, Whing, Adam Hinshelwood, Butters, Mayo, Fraser, Hammond (Lynch 68), El-Abd, Cox (Rents 82), Gatting (Santos 85), Robinson. Cobblers allow Harper to move on
Northampton Town goalkeeper Lee Harper is likely to leave in the January transfer window after the club accepted his transfer request. The former Arsenal and QPR stopper, 34, has grown disillusioned at his lack of first-team opportunities. Boss John Gorman told the Cobblers' website: \"Lee is unhappy not being in the first team so we will wait to see if there is interest from other clubs.\" Harper joined Northampton from Walsall on a free transfer in July 2002.

Northampton v Swansea
Northampton will be without full-back Andy Holt, who is out for up to three weeks with a fractured rib. Winger Mitchell Cole should be fit after flu, and experienced defender Sean Dyche is pushing for a recall after a midweek reserve-team run-out. Swansea hand late fitness tests to Kevin Amankwaah (ankle) and Darren Way (shin problem). Garry Monk (knee) remains sidelined and Leon Knight will again play no part but they have no other selection worries.

Northampton 1-0 Swansea
Luke Chambers got Northampton's first home win of the season in a scrappy tie, with Leon Britton red carded. The Cobblers were in charge for long periods, but keeper Mark Bunn had to deny Rory Fallon, Tom Williams and Andy Robinson in a goalless first half. On 55 minutes Chambers hit a stunning volley from David Hunt's long throw, his first goal for the club. Lee Trundle and Robinson went close to equalising, before Britton's second yellow led to a harsh dismissal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Northampton: Bunn, Bojic, Chambers, Doig, Crowe, Jess, Taylor, Hunt, Burnell (Watt 86), McGleish, Quinn (Kirk 73). Northampton v Blackpool
Northampton may be without experienced defender Sean Dyche after he picked up a knock in training this week. Andy Holt (rib) and Ryan Gilligan (ankle) are both out, but Mitchell Cole hopes to return from a bout of flu. Blackpool could give a start to striker Ben Burgess, who will vie with Scott Vernon and Andy Morrell for a place. Carl Dickinson is likely to continue in the absence of long-term knee injury victim Danny Coid, who is joined on the sidelines by keeper Lee Jones (thumb).

Cole back at Southend after loan
Southend winger Mitchell Cole has returned to Roots Hall following the end of his loan spell at Northampton. The 21-year-old has been playing for the Cobblers for the past two months in League One, where he made seven starts and two substitute appearances. He scored once during his loan spell in their 1-0 win at the end of September. Northampton boss John Gorman told his club's website: \"I have spoken to Steve Tilson and he's told me he'd like him back now his second month has ended.\"

SirStanleyBowles- 11-11-2006
Northampton v Grimsby
A virus has made Northampton midfielder Joe Burnell a doubtful starter, but he could be named on the bench. On-loan winger Mitchell Cole returned to Southend, so Jerome Watt may be in line for a rare start. New Grimsby boss Alan Buckley will be without several key players with Gary Jones completing a three-match ban. Michael Reddy and Gary Cohen remain absent, and on-loan Nottingham Forest midfielder Kevin James is out with a dislocated shoulder.

SirStanleyBowles- 11-24-2006
Northampton v Leyton Orient
Jason Crowe is suspended and Chris Doig (ankle) a major doubt for Northampton. James Quinn should be available, while fellow forward Andy Kirk is expected to return and new loan signing Nick Wright is set to be named on the bench. Luke Guttridge and James Walker are likely to make their Leyton Orient debuts after joining the club on loan during the week. But Orient could be without Donny Barnard (hamstring) and fellow defender Justin Miller (groin).

Gorman praises Cobblers character
Northampton boss John Gorman praised his side's character after they bounced back from their FA Cup exit at Barnet to draw 0-0 with Chesterfield. \"After what happened on Saturday, I think we can be pleased with this performance,\" Gorman conceded. \"It wasn't a classic, but we made a number of chances and could easily have found the net a couple of times. \"We have kept a lot of clean sheets this season - and that's only one defeat in seven in the league now.\"

SirStanleyBowles- 12-16-2006
Huddersfield v Northampton
Huddersfield will be without skipper Jon Worthington (groin) so Matthew Young could be recalled to the line-up. Defender Martin McIntosh and midfielder Chris Brandon are suspended, while striker Pawel Abbott is still sidelined following a hernia operation. Northampton's Jerome Watt is their only new casualty since last week's home defeat by Doncaster. Veteran midfielder Ian Taylor could be in line for a start after coming off the bench on Saturday.

Northampton 0-1 Leyton Orient
Substitute Paul Connor's late winner for Orient moved the London club three points clear of the relegation zone. Matt Lockwood, Luke Guttridge and Gary Alexander all went close for Orient and just after the restart Wayne Corden's free-kick was well saved by Mark Bunn. Orient keeper Glyn Garner did equally well to foil Ryan Gilligan and then Scott McGleish from close range. And with 11 minutes to go Bunn failed to hold on to the ball, allowing Connor to sweep the ball home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Northampton: Bunn, Chambers, Dyche, Doig, Bojic (Bradley Johnson 56), Holt, Hunt (Wright 74), Gilligan (Kirk 83), Burnell, Jess, McGleish. Subs Not Used: Dunn, Quinn. Booked: Hunt, Gilligan. Leyton Orient: Garner, Miller, Mackie, Saah, Lockwood, Chambers, Guttridge, Easton, Corden (Tudor 59), Alexander, Walker (Connor 74). Subs Not Used: Barnard, Keith, Morris. Booked: Easton, Garner. Goals: Connor 79. Att: 4,728. Ref: A Taylor (Cheshire).

Northampton reject Chambers offer
Northampton have revealed they turned down a six-figure transfer fee for defender Luke Chambers. Cobblers chairman David Cardoza would not reveal the identity of the team that subjected the offer for the 21-year-old captain. And he told the club website: \"No one will be leaving here for less than they are worth as we are very ambitious.\" Meanwhile, strikers Scott McGleish, James Quinn and Andy Kirk have been put on the transfer list.

Cobblers get managerial enquiries
Northampton chairman David Cardoza says he has already received enquires about the vacant manager's job. John Gorman resigned on Wednesday as manager of the League One club because of personal reasons. Cardoza told SSB: \"We have already had phone calls and have been inundated with faxes and e-mails with people asking about the job. \"We have to make a decision on who to appoint as quickly as possible but we have to make the right choice.\"
