Rohan Ricketts grabbed a goal on his first appearance in a QPR shirt but could not stop the reserves going down 8-2 against Brighton.
The new loan-signing from Wolves put in an impressive display for the R's second string, in a game that was dominated by Seagulls' striker, Joe Gatting, who grabbed five of his side's eight goals.
Ricketts will be hoping he has done enough in the game to persuade boss John Gregory to throw him straight into the action when promotion-chasing West Brom visit Loftus Road on Saturday.
