nedved stays on
Juventus have been boosted by the news that veteran midfielder Pavel Nedved has signed a one-year extension.
The 35-year-old former Lazio schemer has been with the Old Lady since 2001 after initially joining to replace Zinedine Zidane.
Juve administrator Jean-Claude Blanc believes the best way for the club to move forward next season was to wrap up Nedved's future.
"This contract extension is the best way to reinforce the squad ahead of next season," said Blanc.
"Pavel has been an integral part of Juventus' story and will continue to add character and quality to the team."
Nedved, who is now tied to the club until the summer of 2009, has stated he is 'deeply' attached to the club.
"At the heart of my decision is the knowledge of having lived seven extraordinary years here and the wish to relive the European experience with a team I am deeply attached to," he told the club's official website.
