MITRE GOAL OF THE YEAR The Football League are pleased to announce that there will once again be a Mitre Goal of the Year category at the 2008 Football League Awards, incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League Players.
The Football League are asking Clubs to nominate one goal from any Football League competition in the 2007 calendar year, to include goals scored in the Carling Cup and the Coca-Cola Football League.
We want fans to help us decide our Club nomination by e-mailing your selection from the following five goals:
GOAL A - Marc Nygaard (second goal - Leicester City v QPR - Saturday 17th March 2007)
GOAL B - Dexter Blackstock (QPR v Preston North End - Tuesday 3rd April 2007)
GOAL C - Mikele Leigertwood (QPR v Hull City - Saturday 3rd November 2007)
GOAL D - Akos Buzsaky (second goal - Scunthorpe United v QPR - Saturday 8th December 2007)
GOAL E - Martin Rowlands (second goal - Watford v QPR - Saturday 29th December 2007)
To vote, simply e-mail your choice (ie. GOAL A Marc Nygaard) to iant@qpr.co.uk - Closing date for votes is Monday 14th January 2008.
The entries will then be shortlisted from the 72 Club nominations to five goals overall, and the winner will be decided at the Awards ceremony at the London Hilton on Sunday 2nd March 2008.
