Millwall v Oldham
Millwall hope to have defender Maurice Ross back from a hamstring injury. The Lions will be without defender Mark Phillips (shoulder) and forwards Darren Byfield (ankle) and Ben May (shoulder), who are long-term casualties. Oldham's latest signing Lewis Grabban could make his debut after signing on a month's loan from Crystal Palace. French midfielder Moussa Dabo is in line for his first competitive start, while Spanish striker Diego Cervero may also be included.

Millwall 1-0 Oldham
Millwall bounced back from their heavy defeat against Chesterfield thanks to Poul Hubertz's 78th-minute winner against Oldham at the New Den. After surviving some early scares, Oldham should have taken the lead through midfielder Paul Warne, while Chris Taylor also wasted a good chance. Marvin Williams' fiercely-shot effort almost gave Millwall the lead. But the goal came when Maurice Ross' free-kick bounced in the box before Hubertz lashed it into the net. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Millwall: Pidgeley, Ross, Robinson, Whitbread, Shaw, Braniff (Hubertz 71), Elliott, McInnes, Ardley (Morais 54), Williams, Brighton. Elliott set to stay with Millwall
Nigel Spackman believes Marvin Elliott could end up playing in the Premiership but is adamant it will not happen any time in the near future. The Millwall midfielder, 21, had been linked with a move away, but the Lions boss has dismissed rumours that he is being courted by Reading or Charlton. \"There's no truth in that - Marvin's here, he plays well, he trains well and hopefully he'll get better here. \"And I don't think he's ready to be a Premiership player yet,\" Spackman said. The manager's comments came on the back of a statement from Elliott's advisor, Tony Finnigan, rubbishing reports that he was set to go to the Madejski. \"We can clearly state that Marvin is not talking to Reading,\" Finnigan said. \"I had a conversation with (Reading manager) Steve Coppell, and although he admitted liking him he told me he would not be making a bid. \"As far as we know this situation has not changed. There is interest from several clubs and Marvin obviously wants to play at the highest level. \"However, he is a Milwall player and will continue to give his all for them until they state otherwise.\" Spackman has no intention of doing that as Elliott is integral to his plans as he looks to guide Millwall back to the Championship following their relegation from the Championship. \"Marvin's getting better all the time, he has great energy levels and when you give him a job to do he's disciplined and an excellent player,\" Spackman added. \"He has a lot of work to do on other things but he's working hard in training and if the lad keeps improving he could end up being a Premiership player one day.\" Elliott has played 120 matches for the Lions, scoring four goals.

Millwall cancel Hendry's contract
Millwall have cancelled teenage midfielder Will Hendry's contract by mutual consent. The 19-year-old made his debut as a substitute at Preston in January 2006 and he featured in the Lions's final two games of last season. But the arrival of 16 new players at the New Den have limited Hendry's opportunities this term. He has not made manager Nigel Spackman's squad for any of the Lions' five games so far this season.

Spackman ponders possible appeal
Millwall boss Nigel Spackman is to decide whether he will appeal against Lenny Pidgeley's sending-off in Saturday's 3-2 defeat by Cheltenham. The Lions keeper saw red after 36 minutes when he was adjudged to have handled outside the penalty area. Spackman said: \"I need to have a look at the video because I don't know if the penalty - which looked dubious - or the sending-off were correct. \"It was annoying, because we did well to get back into the game.\"

Cheltenham 3-2 Millwall
John Melligan's first goal of the season earned Cheltenham the points against 10-man Millwall. The home side went ahead with Grant McCann's disputed penalty after Paul Robinson's challenge on Steve Guinan. Millwall drew level with a brilliant 25-yard strike from Derek McInnes, but keeper Lenny Pidgeley then saw red for deliberate handball outside the area. The visitors went ahead through Marvin Williams' low shot but Kayode Odejayi and Melligan sealed Cheltenham's win. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cheltenham: Higgs, Gill (Vincent 61), Caines, Victory, Armstrong, Melligan, Finnigan, McCann, Wilson, Odejayi, Guinan (Gillespie 61), Gillespie (Bell 76). Millwall launch Pidgeley appeal
Millwall boss Nigel Spackman has decided to appeal against Lenny Pidgeley's sending-off in Saturday's 3-2 defeat by Cheltenham. The Lions keeper saw red after 36 minutes when referee Trevor Kettle judged he had handled outside the penalty area. Spackman has looked at the incident a number of times on video and believes there is grounds for an appeal. A tape will be sent to the Football Association for them to review.

Millwall 0-0 Blackpool
Millwall and Blackpool cancelled each other out in a goalless draw. The hosts started well and Derek McInnes fired over from 25 yards before Kevin Braniff headed Neal Ardley's inswinging corner against the crossbar. Blackpool fought back and Andy Morrell hit a left-foot drive over the bar, while Scott Vernon bundled wide after Chris Day saved Kiegan Parker's shot. Blackpool piled on the pressure as they went all-out for a winner but Millwall held on for a valuable point. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Millwall: Day, Senda, Whitbread, Robinson, Shaw, Elliott (Dunne 86), McInnes, Williams, Ardley (Trotter 73), Morais (Hubertz 45), Braniff. Millwall 0-1 Brighton
Marvin Elliott's last-gasp own goal sealed Millwall's first home loss of the season against a Brighton side reduced to 10 men early on. A poor first half was notable only for Richard Carpenter's 32nd-minute red card for a lunge at Filipe Morais. Zak Whitbread and Danny Senda saw shots blocked as Millwall failed to break down a stubborn Seagulls defence. And Elliott deflected Dean Cox's low free-kick past Chris Day on 88 minutes to give the visitors an unlikely win. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Millwall: Day, Senda, Shaw, Robinson, Whitbread, Williams, Morais, McInnes, Elliott, Ardley (Byfield 54), Braniff (Hubertz 64). Gillingham 2-1 Millwall
Clint Easton and Matthew Jarvis scored as Gillingham beat Millwall. Easton scored with a 30-yard strike before Lions winger Zouma Bakayogo forced a save from Scott Flinders. Jarvis added the second after picking the ball up in his own half and exchanging passes with Mark Bentley before slotting home. Millwall substitute Poul Hubertz scored with a header after a cross from Marvin Williams with two minutes left but the home team held on for all three points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gillingham: Flinders, Jupp, Cox, Johnson, Easton, Bentley, Flynn, Crofts, Jarvis, Mulligan (Spiller 86), Ndumbu-Nsungu (McDonald 78). Millwall are expected to make changes after losing 2-1 at Gillingham, with forward Poul Hubertz set to start and Tony Craig (ankle) hoping to recover. Ali Fuseini should keep his place after an impressive showing, while Neal Ardley could come into the reckoning.

Lack of fortune concerns Spackman
Millwall boss Nigel Spackman said his side \"just need a break in front of goal\" after they lost 1-0 at Crewe. \"The players gave it everything, and so did the fans who applauded them off at the end,\" Spackman explained. \"We created a number of good chances, forced their keeper to make several fine saves and had more than one very good shout for a penalty. \"But we gave away a poor goal from a throw-in. It's all about getting three points and goals - we got neither.\"

Spackman & Millwall part company
League One side Millwall have parted company with manager Nigel Spackman. The club said Spackman's exit after five successive defeats was by mutual consent, and placed his assistant Willie Donachie in temporary charge. Spackman said: \"Naturally I am very disappointed that results have not gone for us so far this season. \"In my short time at The Den, I very much enjoyed my association with Millwall and I wish the club all the very best for the future.\" Lions chairman Stewart Till said: \"This has been a very difficult decision for both parties. \"Unfortunately circumstances have dictated that things have not worked out as either he or we anticipated in the first 10 games of the season.\" Till thanked Spackman \"for all his professionalism and hard work\" and added that \"our supporters will understand just how momentous a decision this has been for all of us to take so early in the season.\" Spackman, who had been in charge for four months, had said after Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Northampton: \"If you don't get results, your head is on the line.\"
