Michael shocked to make U-21 bow
QPR defender Michael Mancienne admits he was "shocked" to make his England Under-21 debut against Romania.
Mancienne, who is on loan from Chelsea, came on at half-time for Stuart Pearce's side as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Bristol City's Ashton Gate.
The 19-year-old believes England should have won the game, but was buoyed to have made his debut.
"I was delighted to make my debut, but it was totally unexpected," he told the QPR's official website.
"I thought I might get on for the last 20 minutes or so, but when the gaffer told me to get warmed up at half-time it was a big shock.
"We had all the possession and with a bit of luck, we could have won the game."
