McLeish excited by Euro prospects
Rangers manager Alex McLeish was delighted to overcome a tricky tie with Anorthosis Famagusta and move into the group stages of the Champions League.
"It was a wee bit edgy at times as Ketsbaia was inspiring them until we got it sorted out," he admitted.
"But the first goal settled us and it's fantastic and exciting to be through.
"Now we must look to the likes of Rosenborg and hope we can progress through the groups and make Rangers synonymous with the Champions League."
Monaco's exit in qualifying on Tuesday meant that Rangers move up in the seeding to pot three in Thursday's draw.
"If I can keep my best team together and avoid injuries, I think we can give the best teams a few problems.
"We've got a bit to do to become better, but we are along the right lines."
Rangers captain Barry Ferguson hoped that the £10m expected to come in from participating in the group stages could be used to bring in more new players.
"Hopefully, it will release a bit of money to improve the squad as we need that," he said.
"I think the hard work was done over in Cyprus as it is great to get a result away from home anywhere in Europe.
"We did a great job here, albeit we struggled a bit in the first 20 minutes, but the first goal settled us and we started to play the passing game that suits us best."
Now Ferguson and his manager were looking forward to Thursday's draw.
"Playing in the Champions League group stages against the best teams and the best players is where you want to be and where this club belongs," added Ferguson.
