McClaren to reveal England squad
Steve McClaren will name his England squad for the key Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Russia on Friday.
Coach McClaren is expected to name a 23-man squad for the two most important games of his managerial career, which could decide England's Group E destiny.
McClaren could be without David Beckham after he injured his knee playing for LA Galaxy and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is a definite absentee.
The Israel game is at Wembley on 8 September, with Russia four days later.
Beckham will have a scan on Friday to determine the extent of his injury, but he is a major doubt with so little time to recover.
McClaren had already resigned himself to being without Rooney after he broke a bone in his foot playing for United on the opening day of the season.
West Ham midfielder Kieron Dyer will also miss out after he suffered a double leg break in their Carling Cup game at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday.
With Tottenham's Aaron Lennon still recovering from knee surgery, Blackburn's David Bentley may get his chance.
